Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensures our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Are you passionate about designing and optimizing the critical infrastructure that powers one of the world's largest and most complex networks? Amazon is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to take on a technical leadership role in the design, architecture, and continuous improvement of our data center infrastructure systems. In this role, you will tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems across global projects, driving solutions that are inventive, scalable, and maintainable. You will serve as a key technical resource, guiding infrastructure strategy and influencing decisions that shape the long-term reliability and efficiency of our facilities. If you are a collaborative problem solver who thrives on simplifying complex systems and mentoring others, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing infrastructure designs for an upcoming global deployment, collaborating with partner teams to align on architectural decisions. Later, you could lead a project review where you assess proposed solutions for their long-term impact on systems and processes. In the afternoon, you may work through a complex power distribution or cooling challenge, diagnosing root causes and developing a path forward. Throughout, you will share your expertise with colleagues, helping to raise the technical bar across the team.
Our team is dedicated to building and maintaining the infrastructure backbone that supports Amazon's global operations. We focus on reliability, efficiency, and continuous innovation to meet the evolving demands of our customers. As part of this team, you will collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines and regions, contributing to projects that have meaningful, long-lasting impact. We value an inclusive culture where every voice matters, and we are committed to helping each team member grow their career while pushing the boundaries of what data center infrastructure can achieve.
