MARS Solutions Group is looking for a Business Development Manager to help build and expand our Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain staffing practice.
This is a major growth area for MARS, and we’re looking for someone who can develop relationships with manufacturers and other organizations hiring specialized engineering, operations, manufacturing, and supply chain talent.
The ideal candidate has experience selling staffing, professional services, or workforce solutions into manufacturing and engineering organizations and understands how to develop business beyond a single hiring manager.
Develop new accounts across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and supply chain
Build relationships with engineering, plant, operations, supply chain, IT/OT, and executive leadership
Identify contract, contract-to-hire, and permanent placement opportunities
Expand MARS relationships across multiple departments and locations within client organizations
Conduct client discovery and intake meetings to understand workforce challenges and technical requirements
Partner with MARS recruiting teams to develop sourcing and delivery strategies for specialized positions
Build a consistent pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, and existing relationships
Negotiate staffing agreements, pricing, and engagement terms
Develop long-term strategic relationships rather than transactional placements
Represent MARS at client sites, industry events, and networking opportunities
Hiring needs may include:
Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering
Specialized technical and hard-to-fill positions
3+ years of business development, account management, staffing, professional services, or related B2B sales experience
Experience selling into manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or supply chain organizations strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to develop new accounts and expand existing relationships
Understanding of contract staffing, contract-to-hire, and direct-hire models
Ability to communicate credibly with engineering, operations, supply chain, HR/TA, and executive stakeholders
Strong prospecting, relationship development, negotiation, and closing skills
Ability to independently manage a territory and sales pipeline
Experience partnering with recruiting teams on specialized or difficult-to-fill positions
Existing relationships within the Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, Chicago, or Milwaukee markets are a plus
This person will have an opportunity to help shape a growing MARS practice. As the business expands, there will be opportunities to move into sales or practice leadership.
For someone who prefers to remain an individual contributor, MARS also offers the opportunity to build a significant book of business and maximize earnings without being forced into management.
MARS offers a competitive base salary plus an aggressive commission structure, supported by recruiting and delivery capabilities in the United States and international markets.
