Tax Specialist - TurboTax Expert

Intuit is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts. This unique role combines tax knowledge, an entrepreneurial spirit, and community involvement to assist customers with their tax-related needs. As a TurboTax Local Service Expert, you'll be a trusted advisor, helping customers achieve their financial goals while supporting Intuit’s mission of Powering Prosperity Around the World.

In this position, you'll work on-site at a TurboTax location as part of a collaborative team of financial professionals, serving both in-person and virtual customers who utilize Intuit TurboTax products.

Your main focus will be comprehensive tax return preparation, offering expert tax guidance, calculations, and software assistance. You’ll connect customers with a broader team of specialists in business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, and advisory services. This is an integrated model, meaning you'll actively participate in customer meetings to grasp their needs fully and drive seamless services.

Understanding each customer's individual situation and establishing a personal rapport is critical. Taxes can be overwhelming, and your role as a knowledgeable partner will help alleviate that stress, whether you are assisting with straightforward W-2 filings, guiding clients through major life changes, or addressing more complex scenarios involving business income and investments.

You will be instrumental in expanding TurboTax's clientele within the local community, building long-lasting relationships, and enhancing customer loyalty. You'll utilize TurboTax’s marketing support and resources to foster a thriving business that benefits both you and your community.

• Provide Tax Expertise: Offer hands-on tax advice and preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling a range of scenarios from simple to complex tax situations. Conduct discovery sessions to identify deductions, minimize liabilities, and maximize refunds while providing future tax planning advice.
• Engage with the Community: Take on the role of community ambassador by actively growing a local customer base for TurboTax, pursuing potential clients through outreach efforts, marketing initiatives, and partnerships. Organize financial literacy workshops and events to engage with the community and promote brand awareness.
• Promote the Intuit Ecosystem: Develop a thorough understanding of clients’ financial circumstances and connect them with the appropriate Intuit solutions, ensuring comprehensive support throughout the year.
• Build Relationships: Foster connections and trust with clients, transcending one-time transactions into lasting engagements.
• Deliver Exceptional Customer Experience: Ensure a top-tier customer experience by showing genuine interest in helping clients reach their financial goals, while interacting through both in-person meetings and advanced technology tools.

• EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or practicing attorney with a strong background in tax preparation.
• Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) required for filing taxes.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing a significant number of federal and state individual tax returns using professional tax software.
• Willingness to expand services into additional areas such as bookkeeping, payroll, or business advisory.
• Must be available to work onsite at a TurboTax location, primarily during business hours.
• Desire to build a local and online presence, creating accessible tax-related content for the community.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
